MAPS-1 with SCARA Robot

The MAPS-1 station is designed to demonstrate distribution, testing and palletizing operations in an automation process using mechatronics principles. The work pieces are loaded on the conveyor belt and when detected at certain positions by the sensor, the pick and place arm transfers the work piece to weighing operation and then the SCARA robot is programmed to palletize the workpiece based on the results from the weighing operation. This compact station offers the trainees ability to train on multiple mechatronics and automation technologies, allowing them to build up their skills from working with element, module, to full system.
